The Ethiopian Telecommunications Corporation (ETC) currently monopolises the provision of Internet services and there is a long waiting list for access. Ethiopia has one of the lowest telephone densities in the world, but the ETC is busy extending the telephone system to reach even remote rural areas. Most sites are available in English, but you will come across some in Amharic that require that you install special fonts.
